How to Fight the “ites”(Renew 2017 Little Flock Baptist Church)

2 Chronicles 20:12

“We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.”

What is your –ite that is after you today? Is it finances, health, a relationship gone bad or for my teacher friends a few students that you love but will not miss? It is trying to destroy you, isn’t it?

Recently my –ite came after me. It was a low blow that ripped my heart out. It was as if my worst enemy had set up a plan for my destruction. And as believers we have a very real enemy, and he had.

“But God…” There are about 45 verses that mention these words “But God…” But God had given me this scenario in 2 Chronicles 20 months before this heartache, prepping me as only God can.

King Jephosphat was facing some enemies. They were coming after him. He decided to inquire of the Lord. He proclaimed a fast throughout the land. In his prayer he stated, “You rule” giving all power and might to God. He reviewed the past, where they had been and how God had delivered them. He ended by saying, ““We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.” 2 Chronicles 20:12.

King Jephosphat had resolved. No plan B, no weighing the pros and cons, just reliance on God. This takes much more courage to do than to try to figure it out for yourself. Consider that.

The Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel. The Lord said, “Don’t be afraid. The battle is the Lord’s. March down, take your positions and stand firm.” So we inquire of the Lord, resolve to trust and wait.

“But I can’t say anything in my defense? I didn’t deserve this.” Take up your positions and wait for my deliver. “God, when will this end? The pain is too great.” Wait. “This job is awful. Please God, send me another.” Inquire and wait.

“We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.”

The rest of the story?

As they began to sing and praise, the LORD set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated.  2 Chronicles 20:22

All things possible,
