Ode to the Cake

I owe so much to this cake.  Today was the first day of school.  I set my alarm for 4:45 am, you know early bird…blah, blah, blah.  Our precious dog decided he needed to go to the bathroom at around 3:30 am.  So after I took him out, I promptly went back to sleep. Um, no. He did; he snores.

I got up to realize that my dress was wrinkled horribly.  No worries-we have that handy-dandy  function on our dryer that steams out wrinkles.  It steamed more in.  So, hello wrinkle release and a morning wearing a slightly damp dress, but no problem.  It was pouring down rain, and I had outdoor bus duty.  We were under a pavilion, so again, no worries.

Back to those precious moments previous to school.  I looked in the frig for a nutritious  breakfast.  I ended up having cottage cheese with cottage cheese.

My Smart board quit being so smart, but at least that wasn’t new.  I figured this out a few days ago.  So the technology which I have become so attached to the hip with like we have been trained to do is out the window.  Thanks to some angels that helped get something together that I could use.

The day leveled out.  I guess Satan said, “Enough for today.”

So, wonderful orange cake with a very creamy frosting, I owe you my sanity today.  At lunch I had a couple of pieces of watermelon. By the time the day ended, I was famished. For those of you who know that I am breaking up with sugar, sugar and I are having a slight “maybe we could work this out”.

Thank you, cake.

PS. Go, teachers.  It’s only bad because that good teacher is back, school is now in, and we are going to change lives every moment of every day.  If you are a Christian, then the enemy is mumbling, “My goodness, is it time to start school again? Time to get busy.  I got some destruction to cause.”

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord.         Isaiah 54:17

Changing the world with you,
