It’s Manic Monday-Struggle #1 Comparison

This school year I am focusing on struggles that I face. These are constant Satan traps, trying to steal my joy and discourage me. A discouraged Christian is a useless Christian. We need to be useful.

Since I am a teacher, I am seeing all of this through the lens of a teacher and all the other hats I wear.  If you are female, that’s life: the hand (or future hand) that rocks the cradle does rule the world.

So here is Manic Monday first, followed by  the lyrics and song “You Say” by Lauren Daigle. It speaks to this. Also, you will find one more by our friend Travis Cottrell. He and his family are such precious people, serving God with all their talents.

Manic Monday #1: Comparison

Lauren Daigle: “You Say”

“You Say”
I keep fighting voices in my mind that say I’m not enough
Every single lie that tells me I will never measure up
Am I more than just the sum of every high and every low?
Remind me once again just who I am, because I need to know (ooh oh)
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe (I), oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
I believe
The only thing that matters now is everything You think of me
In You I find my worth, in You I find my identity, (ooh oh)
You say I am loved when I can’t feel a thing
You say I am strong when I think I am weak
And You say I am held when I am falling short
When I don’t belong, oh You say that I am Yours
And I believe (I), oh I believe (I)
What You say of me (I)
Oh, I believe
Taking all I have and now I’m laying it at Your feet
You have every failure God, and You’ll have every victory,

The blood of Jesus speaks for me
Be still my soul, redeeming love
Out of the dust of Calvary
Is rising to the throne above
There is no vengeance in His cry
While “It is finished” fills the sky
forgiveness is the final plea
The blood of Jesus speaks for me
My heart can barely take it in
He pardons all my guilty stains
Surrender all my shame to Him
He breaks the curse of every chain
My sin is great, but greater still
The boundless grace His heart reveals
A mercy deeper than the sea
The blood of Jesus speaks for me
When my accuser makes the claim
That I should die for my offense
I point him too that rugged frame
Where I found life at Christ expense
See from His hands, His feet, His side
The fountain flowing deep and wide
Oh, He did shout the victory
The blood of Jesus speaks for me
Worthy is the lamb
Worthy is the lamb, Lamb for sinners slain
Jesus, Lord of all
Glory to His name
Heaven crying out, let the earth proclaim
Power in the the blood, glory to His name
Worthy is the Lamb
Lamb for sinners slain
Jesus, Lord of all
Glory to His name (Glory to His name)
Power in the blood, glory to His name
Jesus!
Oh let my soul arise and sing
My confidence is not in vain
The one who fights for me is King
His hope, His covenant remain
No condemnation now I dread
Eternal hope is mine instead
His word will stand, I stand redeemed
The blood of Jesus speaks for me
Amazing love
Amazing love, how can it be
The blood of Jesus speaks for me
(For me) Oh, precious is the flow
Thank You, Jesus
For me

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, [a]fixing our eyes on Jesus, the [b]author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.        Hebrews 12:1-2
